Y6 European Day of Languages

As part of #EuropeanDayOfLanguages we practiced our Spanish skills with some speaking and listening activities! The children have since moved on to writing their own emails about their favourite school subjects! #RPSpanish @LanguageAngels_

Y5 Forest School

Today we had our very first forest school session with @Littlefoothq. We built some tripods and dens, practised starting fires, tied a clove hitch knot and survived in a survival tent. Everyone had a great time!! #RPEnrichment

YR European Day of Languages

Reception have loved celebrating European Day of Languages  We dressed in red and yellow, coloured in Spanish flags, learnt to count to 5 in Spanish and even enjoyed a Spanish themed lunch!

Y4 European Day of Languages

To celebrate European Day of Languages we completed our @LanguageAngels_Me Presento unit.

Then we looked over the map of Spain and created our own maps. We also used our grid reference skills to locate Spanish landmarks #RPMFL #RPGeography

European Day of Languages was a real success. We took part in lots of Spanish activities and even had a Spanish themed lunch! We sang songs, played interactive games and learnt the Spanish words for our favourite animals

For European Day of Languages today, we had a day filled with Spanish activities and a Spanish themed lunch too! We sang songs, played interactive games and even created our own self portrait in the style of Spanish artist Picasso!

Nursery have had an amazing day celebrating European Language Day. We painted and coloured in the Spanish flag, we have watched Spanish dancing and sang head, shoulders, knees and toes in Spanish! We even learnt how to say a few Spanish words!

What a first forest school session! We kept warm in an emergency shelter, practised our fire lighting, worked collaboratively to made bug houses and used ropes to make various shapes – all activities towards stamps on our forest school skills! #RPEnrichment

Extra-curricular Clubs

Our extra-curricular clubs go live tomorrow at 8am on Parent Booking. Clubs run from 3-4pm and children should be collected via the Easton Road gate. Please make sure they have trainers with them in a bag, if needed. There will be no clubs on: 12.9.24, 2.10.24, 9.10.24

Today we had a fantastic visit from Dr Culshaw @The_ONR who is a Nuclear Safety Inspector. He brought along a decommissioned graphite core sample, which we all had the opportunity to look at and he told us all about the types nuclear fusion we use in the UK #RPCareersweek

Y2 loved meeting @MerPolMounted. The children had many great questions & we learnt how vets use teeth to find out the age of the horses. One child said, “I’d like to be a mounted police officer because they use horses to keep people safe & that must be rewarding.” #RPCareers

We had a fantastic visit from @MerPolMounted who told us all about their role in the police! We loved learning all about the importance of police horses and how they become police horses! We found out that they have to be very very tall, a lot taller than us! #RPCareers

We LOVED our visit from @MerPolMounted today for careers week! We learnt that you don’t already have to be a rider to become mounted police, how to become a mounted officer, how valuable horses are to the police force and what the best part of the officers job is! #RPCareersWeek

We started the day with a visit from @LFCFoundation. We discussed the number of careers linked to football as well as how STEM can lead us into different jobs. We created mini rockets to practice our engineering skills.

For Day 2 of careers week, we were visited by different units of the @MerPolKnowsley who informed us of all they do for the community. We were also visited by @Knowsley_Leader who shared with the children the responsibilities he has as leader of the borough #RPCareersWeek

Today we enjoyed a fantastic visit from @MerseyPolice. We were able to take a seat on the motorbikes, have our fingerprints taken, did a role play with crowd support and explored some equipment used by fire arms teams.  #RPCareersweek #RPEnrichment

To start #RPCareersWeek, we had a visit from Rebecca Horn, a psychologist who has worked with UNICEF, and Chris Ellis who is a musician! We learned so much about their careers and skills specific to their jobs. #RPEnrichment

Y2 End of Year Class Trip

Y2 have been looking forward to their end of year trip & it didn’t disappoint. We had lots of awesome fun @BubblesPlayNB & were then able to enjoy the fabulous weatheron New Brighton beach with a delicious ice cream  #RPEnrichment #NewBrighton #RNLI

Summer Holiday Camp

Summer camp places can now be booked on Parent Pay. Sessions run from 9am – 3pm and cost just £12.50 per child, per day. Summer camp runs from Monday 22nd July – Friday 9th August. Children need to bring with them a coat, packed lunch, snack and water bottle.

Summer Fair

Our Summer Fair is back this Friday 1-4pm! Children can wear their own clothes to school. Purchase your tickets on Parent Pay and collect your wristbands from the office for priority access. Join us for fun in the sun…

• Food & drink

School will finish at 12.45pm on the day so all children can attend with their families.

EYFS children should be collected from the Easton Road gate and KS1 & KS2 from their Western Avenue exits. All children and families should make their way around to Easton Rd for entry to the fair. All children are to be supervised by their adults.

Y6 Forest School

This week in Forest school we were building shelters and creating our own flag pole using natural resources. We worked on our map reading skills to determine distances between locations on a map. The children were so excited to receive their badges! #RPEnrichment

Y1 End of Year Class Trip

We have had a fantastic day at @Smithillsfarm today. Benji took us around and we were able to feed & meet the animals, watch the cows being milked, enjoy donkey rides & tractor rides to feed the animals! One of the children said “I’m having the best day ever!”  #RPEnrichment

EYFS Father’s Day Celebration Assemblies

We had a wonderful day celebrating our special men in preparation for Father’s Day. We challenged you to a dance off and you did amazing! We hope you all have a great weekend and left our assembly feeling very loved.

Y2 Forest School

Y2 had a fantastic forest school session that led to lots of badges! We worked on our fire lighting skills before working collaboratively to create a piece of artwork using natural materials. We also used potato peelers to develop our whittling skills. #RPEnrichment @Littfoothq

Y1 Forest School

We had a wonderful forest school session that led to lots of forest stamps & badges! We worked on our knot tying before working collaboratively to collect leaves and create decorations from them…some of us even got the chance to cut wood with an axe and mallet! #RPEnrichment

KS1 Father’s Day Celebration Assembly

Thanks to everyone who attended our very special assembly. The children did us all proud & were superstars. Thanks for getting involved with our quiz fun and tie tying race. The children loved it and your Disney knowledge was surprisingly good! #RPAssembly

YR End of Year Class Trip @ Farmer Ted’s

Reception had the most amazing time at @FarmerTedsFarm today. We met lots of animals, brushed the ponies, stroked different mini beasts and reptiles. We loved the tractor ride searching for dinosaurs and visiting the gift shop and play area. #RPEnrichment

Nursery had the best time at @FarmerTedsFarm. We visited lots of animals, stroked some guinea pigs, took part in some pony grooming, met lots of minibeasts and enjoyed a tractor ride to see some dinosaurs! We ended the day with a play in the play area! #RPEnrichment

Y5 End of Year Class Trip @ Wirral Watersports Centre

What a fantastic day! We headed down to West Kirby to have a go at some water sports. We practiced our teamwork during sailing and tested our balance skills whilst on a giant paddle board. We also enjoyed lunch and games on the beach. #RPEnrichment

YN OPAL Parent Play Afternoon

We had a fantastic afternoon for our  @OPAL_CIC parent play afternoon! We enjoyed playing with all of our new resources with our grown ups! We can’t wait for the next one!  #RPEnrichment

Summer Term 2 Extra-curricular Clubs

YN Forest School

We started the term with a forest school session with @Littlefoothq. We practised our rope skills and worked collaboratively to build homes and find food for our insects! We ended the session by taking part in some colourful leaf printing!  #RPEnrichment

Book Exchange for Parents & Carers

Do you have books gathering dust that you could give a new lease of life to? We would love your pre-loved books for others to enjoy.

This week, we are going to be setting up a book exchange for adults, in our office area. Parents & carers are welcome to come and help themselves to a book to enjoy and all we ask is when you’re finished, pop it back for someone else to enjoy.

Any book donations can be popped on the shelving unit in the office area. Thank you!

Million Steps Challenge Competition Winners

As part of the Million Steps Challenge, @cashforkidsliv teamed up with publisher Simon & Schuster to offer all participating primary schools the chance to win a Library Pack of 20 books. Following the end of the challenge all schools that signed up were put into a draw, and…we’re thrilled to let you know that our school is a winner!  Books are on their way to us and will go into our reading shed for our children to enjoy

Careers Week 2024

Our annual careers week is back and it is one of the events our children look forward to most. We are looking for members of our school and wider community to come and chat to our children about the brilliant and inspiring jobs they do.

We were very lucky to have had a little surprise treat this morning…some time spent on year 6’s end of SATs inflatables! Happy faces all round – what a fantastic way to end the week. One of our children said “This has been my favourite day ever!”#RPEnrichment

YR Forest School

Children enjoyed using flowers to make natural perfume. We made some art using a rock to transfer flowers on to the fabric. We ended with some creative rope skills.

Year 4 had a fantastic forest school session with @Littlefoothq. We focused on achieving our blue and brown badges. To receive the blue badge you need to create a range of natural art pieces and to get the brown badge you had to identify natural materials #RPEnrichment

Y5 Forest School

Working collaboratively and using natural resources to create a natural picture frame brought out the creativity in year 5 this week with

EYFS Craft Club

In craft club this week, we created a fish bowl with a moving fish. Children used a slider to enable the fish to move. They loved decorating the tank and showed great resilience with their cutting skills. #RPDT

OPAL Golden Welly Award

Well done to our golden welly winner this week. He has been very collaborative and included other children in his play. His kindness has been spotted by many different staff.

Summer Fair

Our Summer Fair is back on Friday 21st June @ 1-4pm! Tickets will be available on Parent Pay from tomorrow. Entry will cost £2.50 and wristbands given out. Join us for fun in the sun… School will finish at 12.45pm on the day so all children can attend with their families.

Y3 Forest School

In Forest School, we pitched our own shelters and practiced knot tying. Then, we had to create our own clay animal using decorations and imprints from natural resources! #RPForestSchool #RPEnrichment

OPAL Golden Broom Award

Three of our year 1 children were awarded our Golden Broom Award this week for demonstrating an excellent attitude towards tidying up our resources and equipment ensuring it is well looked after and ready for the next children to use! Well done girls!

Y6 St George’s Day

To celebrate St George’s Day, we had a brilliant visit from @PastProductions.  We learnt about why we celebrate and the explored the story of St George slaying the dragon! We also took part in some medieval dancing and a dragon hunt! #RPEnrichment

To celebrate #StGeorgesDay2024 we had a visit from @PastProductions and St George himself who taught us lots about who he is. We turned ourselves into dragons that St George wanted to slay, went on treasure hunts and acted out key words linked to his story. #RPEnrichment

Today we had our first KS1 Spanish extra-curricular club. With the help of Language Angels Lucy, we looked at the unit En la selva – learning animals, playing spot the wrong animal part & singing a song before doing some colouring! #RPExtraCurricular #RPSpanish
