What a fantastic night for our EYFS Star Gazing Night Walk  We spotted lots of stars in the sky, the moon and even Jupiter! The children loved exploring forest school in the dark and we discussed what we found. We ended the night with a lovely hot chocolate  #RPEnrichment

Mrs Clause Visits

Class Christmas Parties

Christmas parties are now available on Parent Pay. Cost £2.50. Parties take place on Friday 8th December and children can wear their Christmas party clothes to school on Friday

WOW year 1! Your resilience the past couple of weeks has been amazing and it’s been lovely to see how much your confidence in the water has grown! Today we had our final session with @ELITE_Swim_UK and put all of our skills into practice and even went underwater! #RPPE

Year 6 have showed great determination and resilience in their swimming lessons so far. Many children can now confidently keep their heads underwater whilst swimming and can float for long periods of time.  #RPPE

We had a fantastic forest school session with @Littlefoothq We went on a hunt to see who could find the most snakes and then had great fun using a technique to stay warm by cosying up underneath a shelter! We ended the day playing a game of predator and prey! #RPEnrichment

Pop-up pool helping pupils learn to swim

Y4 Forest School

We had another fantastic session with @Littlefoothq We learnt essential skills to survive in colder conditions  The children built a shelter out of natural materials, used a tarp to build an overhead shelter and practiced how to get under a cover in an emergency #RPEnrichment

YR Forest School

Reception had a fantastic session with  @Littlefoothq today. We started with a fun game, we had to collect all of the ropes and defend the base. Then we tied knots and showed resilience moving and untying the knots. #RPEnrichment

A HUGE thankyou to Cllr Walsh who secured funding to extend our pool for an extra week! We were so happy to find out we had another week of fun & it’s amazing to see how much the children’s confidence has grown in just 5 weeks. We’re very proud of you all

Winter Wonderland Event

Here is a little taster of what a spectacular time our Winter Wonderland was for all of our families  Our school hosted this wonderful festive event for free, for all to enjoy.

Residential Home Visits

Mr Couling kindly organised visits to Whitestone Lodge & St Bart’s Nursing Home where our children sang festive songs, chatted & played with residents. We look forward to our next visit next term. We wish all the residents a very merry Christmas

What a fantastic show at @TheatreRoyalStH! The children thoroughly enjoyed Aladdin. Our children always make us proud with their exceptional behaviour! Well done!

Y1 Attendance Prize Trip

We spent the morning at Space World as a treat for being the class with the highest attendance in Autumn! Laughing, playing and having fun with our friends – what a great way to start the week!  Well done year 1, keep it up!. #RPEnrichment

Goalball Competition Winners

Today we had great fun in the snow! We headed to the field and enjoyed time making memories with our friends.

EYFS loved getting out on the field today to explore the snow. We drew pictures, made snowballs and a rather lovely snowman. Children has so much fun with their friends.

We absolutely LOVED spending some time on the field in the snow today!  We built snowman, made snow angels, threw snowballs at the teachers but most importantly had lots of fun playing with our friends!

Number Day

This Friday we are raising money for NSPCC. We will be collecting £1 donations and children can wear clothes with numbers on or patterns. We will also be hosting a cake sale after school, on the main playground

YR Forest School

Children worked collaboratively and made a bridge using sticks. They enjoyed sitting around the fire and using their senses to describe what they could see, hear and smell. The most exciting part was relaxing in the hammocks.

Y2 had an amazing forest school session with @Littfoothq. They worked collaboratively to build a bridge, practised tying knots, learnt how to use a storm shelter and had the opportunity to use a hammock. #RPForestschool #outdoorlearning

Y1 Forest School

We had a fantastic session with @Littlefoothq this week – working collaboratively to build hammocks from sticks, building hammocks between trees we could spend some time in with friends and then showed our resilience when working on our knot tying skills. Well done year 1

Y5 Forest School

In our Forest school session, children practised their fire lighting skills both independently and as part of a team. They needed to build a fire that lasted at least 8 minutes. There was success for one young man who managed to complete a Trucker’s Hitch for the first time

EYFS Gardening Club

The children have loved their first gardening club with Mr Lyon. We have planted carrots, cabbages and some broccoli! We can’t wait to see them start to sprout

Y1 Daily Mile

A little bit of rain didn’t stop us from completing @_thedailymile this week! We ran with our friends, at our own pace and most importantly returned to class motivated and ready for our learning!

Easter Holiday Club

Our Easter Holiday Club is back for YR-Y6, running from 2nd-12th April. Sessions run from 9.00-3.00pm and cost £12.50 per day. Children need to bring a packed lunch, water bottle and raincoat. Select your days and make payment on Parent Pay #RPEnrichment

Y1 World Wildlife Day

We discussed animals that live in our oceans as part of #WorldWildlifeDay & some asked how big some of the animals were. So, along with  @Year2RobyPark we did some research and used ourselves to make the length of blue whales and orca. We were amazed at their size!

Y3 World Wildlife Day

During #WorldWildlifeDay2024 we sorted food chains, made our own and considered what can happen when a food chain is disrupted. We discovered the dangers on the food chain if animals go extinct, and how all different food chains are dependent on each other.

Y4 World Wildlife Day

For #WorldWildlifeDay2024 we focused on food chains! We looked at the different types of producers, consumers and predators from a range of habitats. We created fact files on food chains to share what we have learnt 

EYFS Gardening Club

Today we have taken part in some digging and planting. We helped Mr Lyon dig out all of the weeds and then we learnt how to plant some potatoes! The children did a fantastic job at digging out their trenches for their potatoes! 

Y5 World Book Day

As part of our #WorldBookDay2024 activities, the fantastic @WestEndinSchool paid us a visit. Vicki taught us the story of Twelfth Night. We created different freeze frames and acted out well known scenes. #RPENGLISH #RPENRICHMENT

As part of #WorldBookDay2024, year 6 enjoyed a fantastic session with @WestEndinSchool. We explored the William Shakespeare play Twelfth Night. From this, we created freeze frames and acted out key scenes.  #RPEnrichment

This afternoon we had a visit from @sublimescience. We got to see how acetone can break down a polystyrene cup. We explored different instruments, including one you make with a straw! Reception had a fantastic time learning lots of new vocabulary and facts. #RPScience

Wow! What a fantastic visit from @sublimescience. We enjoyed watching lots of different science experiments and exploring different instruments! We especially loved the smoke circles and bubbles! We were amazed, thank you!  #RPScience #RPEnrichment

We had a great session with @Littlefoothq. First we went on a bug hunt! We then showed great resilience through using our hand-eye coordination to carefully hammer nails into wood! We ended the session by collecting sticks for our own fire  #RPEnrichment

EYFS Gardening Club

We had a fantastic last session! We worked with partners to plant some pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds. The children have been fantastic this half term and have loved gardening club with Mr Lyon! We can’t wait to see it all begin to grow!

YN Forest School

Today we had a great session with @Littlefoothq. We learnt how to make a raft for our insect friends to float on. We placed it in a large puddle that we found and used bark from the trees for the insects to eat! We ended the session by safely warming our hands on our campfire

Thank you to our HSA & our staff for making Easter happen at Roby Park. They’ve collected Easter eggs & organised an Easter Egg Hunt that the children thoroughly enjoyed. Our Easter discos were a great success also & today there will be visitors to class with more egg surprises

OPAL Day – Mon 15th April

To launch all of our exciting new @OPAL_CIC resources, we are going to host a launch day this Mon for the chn. All chn need to come in to school wearing their PE kits and trainers, with their wellies also to keep in school. Children are only allowed on the field with wellies.

OPAL Day

We are excited to see all of the chn back for an exciting start of term tomorrow. Doors open at 8.40am. Just a polite reminder to send chn into school in their school PE tracksuit, trainers and warm coat for our @OPAL_CIC launch day tomorrow.

Chn will get to experience and enjoy all of our new resources. Chn must have their wellies with them to go on the field. Wellies will stay in school so please wear trainers and bring wellies in a bag. Keep an eye out on all of our socials to see what fun the children get up to.

Y6 London Residential Meeting

To celebrate St George’s Day, we had a brilliant visit from @PastProductions.  We learnt about why we celebrate and the explored the story of St George slaying the dragon! We also took part in some medieval dancing and a dragon hunt! #RPEnrichment

Our New Reading Shed

Our new Reading Shed has arrived in our quiet zone. Children will be able to enjoy a range of fiction and non fiction books purchased with money raised through our reading sponsored event. We have also purchased Tonies for children who want to enjoy audible stories 

EYFS Book Club

We enjoyed sharing lots of stories together! We compared books and shared our favourite ones. It was lovely to see Reception children reading their stories to Nursery!

We had a fantastic time in club tonight making sea themed sun catchers. Children couldn’t wait to get home and put them in the window.

Thank you so much for a brilliant day today. We pledged 242,000 steps as part of @hitsradiolv and @cashforkidsliv challenge and we have raised an incredible £1347 already! Thanks to our incredible team for pulling off a brilliant event.

YN Cake Decorating

After our colour run we decorated some yummy cupcakes. We used lots of colours to create our cakes, mixing them and creating rainbows… a bit like the paint all over us! Thank you

Y1 Forest School

We had a wonderful morning spent with @Littlefoothq in forest school  From identifying trees, compass points, bug hunts, camouflaging ourselves, fire lighting & knot practice, we had a very busy morning with lots of stamps towards our forest school badges! Well done year 1!

Y2 Forest School

Year 2 had a great forest school session with @Littfoothq. The children worked together to create natural prints while also practicing their knot tying skills. #ForestSchool #outdoorlearning #RPEnrichment
